Course objectives
Students will be informed about the basic functioning of digestive system. Students will understand how the body can derive all the energy, structural materials, and regulationg agents that are needed from the food we eat.
Syllabus
  • 1. Cells and their nourishment. 2. Energy transformation. 3. Macronutrients and their metabolism. 4. Vitamins and minerals. 5. Homeostatic - body fluid and electrolyte balance. 6. The digestive system - gastrointestinal tract, mechanism of digestion.
