entry written exam during 1st class of the semester (90%) - terminology of physical exercises, anatomy and muscle function - 2 attempts (the test is written in the Czech language)

Course objectives
The aim of the subject is to introduce student:
- various types of commercial group classes under the guidance of a fitness instructor
- the basics of resistance exercises in the weight room

Upon successful completion of the course:
- students are familiar with group lessons; they can characterize the given type of exercises
- students know the correct execution of resistant exercises for different muscle groups on machines in the weight room

  • Definition of wellness and fitness, characteristics of fitness activities
  • 2nd- 6th class
  • Strengthen exercises on apparatus in fitness centres for different muscle groups: correct technique, machines setting, the list of exercises for different muscle groups according difficulty, …

  • Choreographic class (aerobic)
  • - Theory: history, class structure, terminology, music, technique of basic steps, verbal and nonverbal cueing of steps, teaching methods (no taps, layering), stretching, use of aerobics exercises in PE and in sport training, the benefits of aerobic exercises, the development of coordination abilities, endurance ability, ….
