- Course objectives
- The course is taught at Bachelor study program. During the course, students will develop a broad knowledge of EU Structural policy and the ability to analyse financial opportunities in private and public sector in the Czech Republic for the financial perspective 2007 – 2013. At the end of the course, students will be able to prepare a project application in particular operational programme. Furthermore, they will be able to apply basic rules of project cycle and project management and other practical knowledge concerning financial opportunities of EU funds.
- Syllabus
- 0) Introduction
- 1) How to get familiar with grants? Universal obligations and requirements for applicants and recipients. Indicators, public commissions, horizontal topics, threats. Who is a project manager and who is not?
- 2) Grants in the business sector: program documentation, public subsidy, electronic application form E-Account, measurable effects and linkage reasoning. Role of the CzechInvest. Practical examples.
- 3) Grants in the sector of human resources development. Program documentation, public subsidy, electronic application form Benefit, measurable effects and linkage reasoning, Practical examples.
- 4) Regional operational program: program documentation, public subsidy, measurable effects and linkage reasoning. Tourism assistance, the role of the URR. Practical examples, other thematic programs
- 5) Project management introduction. How to preserve the project and not to lose it? Project administration principles. Project team. Public relations or Advertising? Audit. Asking for payment, statements and documentation.

- Teaching methods
- The course is taught as intensive class once in two weeks. Emphasis is put on class discussion and team work. Students are encouraged to actively participate in class by posing questions of clarification or bringing up problems for discussion.

- The assessment of students´ work during the course is composed of two parts:
1) Active participation and team work during the course
2) Oral Final Exam - Language of instruction
