- Course objectives
- This course teaches how to use basic concepts of sociological thought. Every week of the semester, students learn to understand and use a different couple (or dichotomy) of sociological concepts. Besides studying the textbook readings, they are required to individually look up further relevant sources of information to prepare the assigned homework. The main aim of the course is to make students practise the adequate use of the terms to interpret social phenomena and to develop their writing skills.
This is an e-learning course. Students and teachers meet three times per semester for a classroom lecture and for a discussion of the readings and students’ assignments. - Syllabus
