Prerequisites
The unique opportunity to follow the diplomats lectures means that no prerequisities were set. An introductory lecture on the institution of the EU presidency will contribute to coordination of students comming from other disciplines.

Course objectives
The course offers a unique opportunity to follow the performances by politicians, diplomats and experts who themselves actively participated in CZ PRES 2022.
Learning outcomes
The student will understand the principle of organization and implementation of the EU Presidency • Will be able to analyze the key elements of presidency programme preparation and its implementation, including a description of the factors that influence the success of the role of the rotating EU Presidency. • Will be able to formulate questions and describe important elements of lessons.
Syllabus
  • The course is online, it is based on regular meetings always on Friday mornings in the MS Teams platform. The online format enables the participation of experts from practice. • Introductory organizational instructions - explanation of the principle of "editorial teams" • Introductory lecture by doc. Kaniok on the institution of the presidency in the EU • This is followed by lectures given by experts from the Government of the Czech Republic, the Office of the Government, the PermRep in Brussels, etc. The lectures finelised by the implementation of the five priorities of the Czech Presidency in the EU • I. strategy and conception of the presidency: the minister as a representative of the government of the Czech Republic • II. implementation: logistics; the role of the SZ; program creation; negotiations and communication • III. program priorities of the CZ PREZ: the refugee crisis and post-war reconstruction of Ukraine; energy security; strengthening of European defense capacities and cyberspace security; strategic resilience of the European economy; resilience of democratic institutions.
Teaching methods
Watching online presentations given by experts, preparing extracts in the form of working notes, discussions.
Assessment methods
Final test (multiple choice in IS). The test will be based on the basis of working notes - records created by teams of editors (each guest will have a team of editors to ask questions and write working notes). Attendance (online participation) is mandatory.
