Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The course is structured in 4 parts. The first part of the course focuses on the theoretical definition and methodological concept of macro-practice in social work. The second part of the course introduces the role and competences of the macro practice social worker. In the third part of the course, approaches to the implementation of macro practice are presented, emphasizing administrative and participatory approaches to implementing community social change. In the fourth part of the course, macro practice methods, the role of the social worker and approaches to change are discussed in more detail in the context of community care, community development and community planning. As part of the course, students will independently reflect on developing their own design methodology for adapting social work services to the needs of a selected target population. Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to: Interpret the theoretical context of macro-practice in social work; explain the role of the social worker in macro-practice; apply the principles of different approaches to community social change; assess community needs; master methods of assessing the needs of selected target populations; manage the community planning process; organize community care; stimulate and promote community development.
Learning outcomes
After passing this course students should be able to: - interpret theroretical context of macro-practice in social work; - explain the role of social worker in macro-practice; - apply the priciples of participative approach to the change of social environment of community; - assess the needs of the community; - understand and practise the methods of needs-assessment chosen target groups in the field; - use the community planning method for the draw up the conception of social services in the locality; - manage the community planning process; - evaluate the effects of social services community planning.
