- Syllabus
- I. Language Training: 1. Introduction: International instruments defining the term of a refugee: Early instruments, 1951 Convention, 1967 Protocol, main provisions, Statute of the Office of the UNHCR, regional instruments, asylum, treatment 2. Part I - Chapter I and Chapter II: General principles. Inclusion clauses 3. Chapter III: Cessations clauses 4. Chapter IV: Exclusion clauses 5. Chapter V and Chapter VI: Special cases 6. Part II - Procedures for the Determination of Refugee Status II. Practical workshops: case studies - existing domestic law, asylum procedure in the Czech Republic, inclusion, cessation and exclusion in case studies, the principle of non-refoulement, prohibition of torture and inhuman treatment, readmission agreements, European acquis.

- Credit requirements: active participation in the seminars, the seminar paper based on a case study from REFUGEE WORLD CD-ROM and individual or personal comments to the case.
