Course objectives
The aim of this course is to present the fundamentals of Administrative Procedure of the European Union. Numerous EU bodies, offices and agencies carry out administrative functions. However the EU does not have a general administrative procedure act governing decision-making. The EU institutions are governed by fragmented rules and principles established in case-law. The course will focus on general principles of EU Administrative Procedure, challenges of EU Administrative Procedures (e.g. public security and terrorism versus equality of arms in administrative procedures), codification of Administrative Procedures.
