Course objectives
Public finance - Economic Context deals with the economic tasks of public finance and the public sector. The aim is on the state budget, pension system, and the more important incomes of the state budget. It is showed aspects of state budget deficit and state debt.
Learning outcomes
Students should be able to: Analysis up to date tasks in public finance, Analysis state incomes and expenditures, assess of sustainability of public finance in the short and long horizon and offer new solutions for fiscal politics.

  • Introduction to Public sector, Public budget, State budget, Social security, Tax system, Fiscal politics, impacts of the budget deficit and state debt.

Teaching methods
Lectures and practical seminars focused on application of knowledge from the lectures.
Assessment methods
Requirement for credit gaining is to have no absence in lectures and elaborate and present an essay. Theme of this essay has to be up to date and practical oriented.
