This class will involve an examination of divorce and custody laws in Florida, the rights of children and parents in Florida.

Course objectives
At the end of the course, students should be able to:
- KNOW THE TYPES OF FAMILY CASES THAT THE COURTS HAVE JURISDICTION TO DECIDE ON.
- KNOW THE RIGHTS OF PARENTS OF CHILDREN AND ENTITLEMENTS UNDER FLORIDA LAW IN THE AREAS OF CUSTODY, ALIMONY, CHILD SUPPORT AND DIVISION OF ASSETS AND DEBTS.
- BE FAMILIAR WITH THE FOSTER CARE AND DEPENDENCY SYSTEMS IN FLORIDA.
- DISCUSS THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF FAMILIES AND RIGHTS OF PARENTS AND CHILDREN IN FLORIDA.
