Course objectives
The subject follows the subject of professional practice in emergency care and the components of the IRS. It is significant part of the study program. It allows the application of theoretical knowledge in clinical conditions workplaces. Expands knowledge of special diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Provides space to improve skills, skills and habits. It teaches students autonomy, responsibility and teamwork. Students work under the supervision of clinicians in accredited workplaces.
Learning outcomes
Objectives of the block:
Practical separate handling of internal fittings patrol vehicle ZS , knowledge of and ability to use storage and handling equipment service car . Ability to work independently with documentation rescuers ZS . Active participation in team crew vehicles as part of the trip. Active cooperation at the first contact (examination) patient , investigation, seizure and treatment. Active participation of the receipt, transport and transfer of the patient. The ability of radio communication with EMS dispatching . Rating : Department of the prepared form , each student will be evaluated within one working day by EMS at the exit : Fixing stereotypes and skills in the second year , training algorithms organizational expertise , active inclusion in the ambulance events under the supervision of trainers , training of teamwork, self-determination , solving major interventions , refinement and improvement of professional conduct and behavior.
Syllabus
  • Practice takes place in the 4. semester, after completion of theoretical training, the workplace emergency medical services.
  • Terms reason with students individually, depending on the capabilities (capacity) of EMS.
  • The student has the opportunity to take practice in medical facilities outside of Brno, under the security practices of students at LF MU.
  • As part of the course, students complete the online course "Hyperbaric Medicine for Paramedics" aimed at gaining knowledge about diving medicine, diving physiology, and the applications and indications of HBO. The course was created thanks to the project "Online educational platform for students of medical and non-medical fields with a focus on hyperbaric medicine", which is implemented by the Interreg V-A SK-CZ program and co-financed from the European Regional Development Fund. Topics in the course include general information on the diver's equipment: ABC, flashers, BCD, diving cylinders, belts, computers, lights, scooters, diving physiology, hypercapnia, hyperoxia, hypoxia, arterial gas embolism.

Teaching methods
The professional practice is carried out at accredited medical rescue services, under the guidance of experts - trainers of medical rescue services.
Students are given an individual appointments depending on the capacity (capacity) of the workplace.
The student has the opportunity to practice also in outpatient health care on the basis of the Contract on the Security Practice of Students of MU Faculty of Medicine.

Termination: Credit
Rating: Department of the prepared form, each student will be evaluated in   within one working day to the EMS at the exit;
