Course objectives
Nutrition is considered one of the most important factors influencing physiological processes in health and disease, it also applies to nutrition in childhood, where knowledge is rapidly evolving. The course will focus on current knowledge and views on nutrition healthy and sick child. After this course on the basis of acquired knowledge the student will be able to determine the nutritional diagnosis, objectives and solutions, review, including education of a child patient, also use this information for the prevention of, where nutrition in childhood plays an important role.

Syllabus
  • Evaluation of the nutritional status of patients, formulation of nutritional care plans due to the particularities of pediatric patients, conducting medical consultations in the field of good nutrition, making individual nutritional practices for metabolic disorders and other serious conditions, communication with pediatric patients and their families and the education of pediatric patients and their parents field of therapeutic nutrition, nutritional history, monitoring the amount of food eaten and its evaluation, needs assessment and create a plan of nutrition care for patients with acute symptoms of metabolic and allergic diseases, evaluation of somatic and nutritional risks with subsequent documentation, compilation and assessment of individual dietary regimens for metabolic disorders and allergic diseases, monitoring of drinking regime, recommending changes in the way feeding, performing calculations, enteral nutrition and nutritional support.
