Course objectives
The subject nursing in internal medicine offers the students the basic overview of most frequent internal diseases, which are probable to appear, basic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, emergent situations are stressed.
Syllabus
  • 1. Respiratory system diseases I. Anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, most important signs, diagnostics, emergencies in penumology, respiratory failure.
  • 2. Respiratory diseases II. Diseases of bronchi, tumors of bronchi and lung.
  • 3. Respiratory diseases III. Pneumonias, pulmonary abscess, pneumoconiasis, repiratory tuberculosis.
  • 4. Respiratory diseases IV. Pulmonary mycosis, diseases of pleura, mediastinum and diaphragm, inherited respiratory diseases, pulmonary manifestation of other internal diaseases.
  • 5. Heart diseases I. Examination methods, cardiac falure, arythmias.
  • 6. Heart diseases II. Ischemic heart disease, forms, risk factors, prevention.
  • 7. Heart diseases III. Inflammtory diseases of heart, inherited and acquired valvular diseases, aortic diseases.
  • 8. Shock, syncope, pulmonary embolism, pulmonary hypertension, cor pulmonale.
  • 9. Angiology. Arterila diseases, diseases of veins, diseases of lymfatic vessels.
  • 10. Basics of imunology. Celular immunity, humoral immunity, immunodeficiencies, hyperproductions of immunoglobulins, immunosupresive and imunostimulation therapy.
  • 11. Haematology I. Anemias, leucaemias, lymfoproliferative diseases.
  • 12. Haematology II. Myeloproliferative diseases, bleeding, disseminated intravascular coagulopathy, transfusions.
  • 13. Locomotion system diseases. Imflammatory systemic diseases, metabolic diseases of ancles, degeneratice diseases of ancles and back bone.
  • 14. Gastroenterology I. Examination methods, oesophagus and stomach diseases.
  • 15. Gastroenterology II. Diseases of the bowel, pancreas, liver
