Course objectives
Midwifery practice is very important part of educational programme. Opportunity for applying theoretical knowledge in clinical workstations is afforded. It introduces knowledge and practical skills from the field of secondary care for woman and newborn (gynaecology, delivery room, risk pregnancy department, childbed, newborn department and gynaecological oncology department). It acquaints with special diagnostic and therapeutic processes. Students are familiarised with activities in gynaecology and risk gravidity consulting room. Nursing care problems of woman suffering from gynaecological disease, during hospitalisation in gravidity, during childbirth and during childbed are offered to be solved, as well as care for newborn. Students work under the supervision of tutors and mentors on accredited stations. Subject objectives- student will be able to: - identify individual bio-psycho-socio-spiritual needs of clients using diagnostic algorithm; - propose, execute and evaluate efficiency of care plan in cooperation with multidisciplinary team; - work with medical documentation; - treat clients professionally and emphatically; - retain the latest knowledge and to apply them in day to day work;
Learning outcomes
The Student will after completing the course able to: properly care for women with gynecological diseases; can properly take care of newborn babies with disorders of health; to be able to assist in a caesarean section; she can handle the care of a woman in labor with irregular the course of childbirth and puerperium.

  • Module subject: Midwifery process: - for healthy woman in gynaecology consulting room; - during abnormal pregnancy; - during abnormal birth; - woman with abnormal childbed; - for physiological newborn; - woman suffering with gynaecological disease; - woman with unwanted pregnancy; - wit sterility and infertility; - with oncological disease;
