Course objectives
Based on general knowledge of geography of France student achieves the ability of targeted acquiring of new concrete knowledge about the discussed regions and the ability of creating their synthesis in the comprehensive framework of developmental correlation of partial geographic spheres - with emphasis on the possibilities of utilization in the spheres of economic, political and cultural relations between France and Czech republic. The seminar follows the lecture. Work in the seminar is focused on analysis of demographic, economic and social factors, and reflect on current developments. Students work with various authentic materials (maps, graphs, texts).
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student are able to: - be well acquainted with the map of France, localize basic items of physical and socioeconomic scope (island, peninsulas, mountains, rivers, lakes, cities, regions etc.) - understand and explain the position of France in the European and world context, including historical development of the position - describe the natural condition of France, geological development, surface, climate, waters, biota and environment describe the socioeconomic conditions in France, population, cities, agricultural industry and services - find the connection between both factors, synthesize and evaluate them - make their own opinion on the development of French society, the position of France in the world and defend these opinions with their own arguments - compare the Czech Republic and France in all geographical factors and analyze the relation between the Czech Republic and France
