Course objectives
The aim of the course is to improve the language skills and communication skills of students (reading and listening, oral and written speech), develop dialogue and monologue, expand the vocabulary and deepen the knowledge of Russian grammar.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to communicate in Russian on discussed topics within using the new lexicon; to apply acquired knowledge of Russian grammar in written and spoken language; to understand texts and listening in Russian at level A2–B1; to pronounce correctly Russian words and to use correct intonation in Russian sentences.

Teaching methods
Practical language exercises - seminars. Reading and listening of Russian text; translation, gap filling exercise and other exercises; work in groups of two or more.
Assessment methods
The credit consists of written and oral part. After the successful completion of a written test (the test must be written at 75%.), students may make oral credit, which includes: Analysis and correction of test errors, conversation in Russian with the teacher (questions based on the topics from the course); creating a dialogue in pairs on a given situation. Duration of oral part 20–30 minutes.
We recommend enrolling in the follow-up course Jazykový seminář 3 (RJ1029), in which, among other things, monologue and dialogical language are purposefully developed.

Teacher's information
Attendance is recorded, absences must be duly excused, and all homework must be handed in on the due dates (requirements for credit).

The course develops the student's linguistic knowledge and communicative skills, attention is paid to the linguistic components of the chosen topics, grammatical and lexical structures are practised in various communicative situations through supplementary exercises that focus on the development of receptive and productive skills and on oral interaction. The course offers preparatory exercises to improve oral and written expression, situational exercises, discussions and debates.

Enrollment in Language Seminar 3 (RJ1029) is recommended to expand on the basic conversational topics of the required course Practical Language Exercises and their application in practice, with a major emphasis on the development of dialogic and monologic speech.
