Course objectives
Use of compensatory aids for people with visual impairment Types of remedial and compensatory aids, low-vision devices - theory and practice. The general division of remedial and compensatory aids for visually impaired, thein practical use. The basic knowledge about the IT for visually impaired persons - special software and hardware.
Syllabus
  • 1. Services of support centres Tyfloservis, o.p.s. a TyfloCentrum, o.p.s. 2. Compensatory aids, current legislation 3. Visual impairment and its simulation 4. Optical aids for near distance 5. Spectacle Magnifiers, hyperoculars 6. Optical aids for middle distance:systems Galileo, Kepler 7. Optical aids for distance: monoculars, systems Galileo, Kepler 8. Non-optical aids: use of writing by persons with low vision and by blind people 9. Computer and television screen magnifiers 10. Elektronical daily organizers for blind persons (ntb, PAC Mate, Aria, RPT). Talking mobile phones 11. Braille monitor display and Braille printer 12. Use of PC by persons with visual impairment, speciál software and hardware. Other services for visually impaired people.
Assessment methods (in Czech)
Výuka probíhá v Tyfloservisu, o.p.s. a TyfloCentru Brno, o.p.s. Všechny zmíněné kompenzační pomůcky si studenti prakticky odzkouší.Účast ve výuce je nutná, zápočet je udělen za aktivní účast v semináři a esej.
