Course objectives
The subject tuition is based on the requests of the Curriculum of Educational Programme for Pre-school Education, which appeals on the development of the communicative abilities of pupils which concentrate on the mastering of the speech, the ability to express oneself, to communicate with gestures and words, to communicate in common everyday situations, to master the skills which preceed reading and writing, which also stress the development of vocabulary range and the ability to use the informative and communicative means. The subject objective is the orientation in questions of the Czech language culture and laying the basics of learning the phonetical aspect of the language. The students recognise the language in its standard and codification, get acquainted with the codificational and other scholarly literature which retains the language corectness, the stress is imposed on the stylistic refinement of the communication. When recognising the phonetical aspect of the language, the study concentrates on the proper orthoepy in communication, on the division of coherent speech and on further phonetical and phonological phenomena in our communication.
Syllabus
  • 1) The concept of the language culture. 2) The basic expectations of the language culture, the requests for cultivated communication on behalf of the speech culture. 3) Formality and informality in social communication. 4) The usage, standard, codification; the term of language corectness and style refinement; the corectness in grammar, orthography and pronunciation. 5) The most common language mistakes, problems in the standards of phonology, morphology and syntax. 6) The stylistic diferentiation of the language, the tendency to language economy. 7) The basic literature about the Czech language, the codification handbooks. 8) The phonetic structure of the language, phonetics and phonology. 9) The acoustic structure of the language; orthophony and orthoepy. 10) Vowels, diphtongs and consonants; syllables. 11) The segmentation of coherent speech – the pause, intonation, cadence. 12) The pronunciation of sound clusters in coherent speech. 13) The acoustic structure of the Czech language and its graphical building; ortography.
