Prerequisites
Course includes instruction in the form of lectures and related exercises. During the lectures, students learn the importance of cultivated garden plants to humans, the basic living conditions for plant life, the importance of land with indoor plants, poisonous or otherwise dangerous plants and the like. In workout is theoretical lessons complemented by practical experiments and observations in nature and classroom that is designed so that it can be implemented even with limited instrumentation and show the possibility of using gardens for basic education.
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
After completing the course, students will be able to: - phenological observations carried out in the autumn and winter months; - carry out regular activities related to the care of the faculty teaching garden in autumn; - to ensure basic conditions and procedures for growing selection of garden plants; - Nursing and grow according to principles undemanding houseplants; - work with professional literature study focused on the cultivation, processing and use of garden plants; - interpret the results based experiments and observations; - use appropriate work equipment, tools and maintain them; - observe technological discipline, hygiene and safety, first aid in case of injury in the garden, or. in contact with toxic, allergenic or otherwise hazardous plants.

  • Handout of lectures: 1. Fundamentals of horticulture and floriculture in primary schools Phenology second, meteorology and climatology 3. Soil - composition, properties, types 4. Processing of soil, plant nutrition and fertilization 5th Fertilizers - industrial, livestock 6. External conditions for plant growth and development 7th Plant Growth Regulator 8th Reproduction of plants - vegetative, generative Forcing ninth ornamental plants, twigs 10th Houseplants - origin, meaning, model species suitable for primary school 11. Protection of Plant - disease, pests, physiological disorders, safeguards 12th toxic, allergenic and dangerous plants Exercises outline: 1. Introduction to the faculty teaching garden, the principles of occupational safety and health for faculty teaching garden. Function faculty teaching garden and its importance for training, equipment, and other important components of the gardens at elementary schools 2. Creation of meaning and nature calendars 3. Importance of Soil - sampling and evaluation, through observation and experimentation 4. The practical training for faculty teaching garden (training in basic job skills) 5. Practical training for faculty teaching garden (training in basic job skills) 6. Basic conditions for life - meaning light, heat, water, air and nutrition to plants and evaluation, through observation and experimentation 7. Use the Botanical Garden of Faculty of Science teaching in elementary school 8th Reproduction of plants (vegetative) - training in job skills 9th Observation and experiment with twigs and forcing bulbs 10th Houseplants - transplanting, selection of appropriate conditions for growth and development (habitat) hydroponic cultivation 11th Houseplants - disease, pests and physiological disorders 12. Biological plants grown in gardens elementary schools and their impact on the health of pupils (poisonous plants, allergenic dangerous as drugs and their abuse).
