Course objectives
At the end of the course, a participant: a) masters the latest methods and techniques in communication and composition education; b) is able to interconnect invention, composition and stylization parts appropriately; c) forms a composition lesson, in which pupils have to use their creativity maximally; d) uses his/her knowledge and skills while evaluating and assessing pupils’ spoken and written discourse; e) guides his/her pupils to the natural practice of a cultivated fluent discourse – a written one and also a spoken one.
Learning outcomes

Syllabus
  • 1. Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education and newly introduced Standards for communication and composition education 2. Use of extracts from artistic literature for children and youth for the development of communication skills 3. Three phases of the practice of a fluent spoken/written discourse, their characterizations and a usage in lessons 4. Choice of topics for pupils’ fluent discourse – the work with phraseology 5. Correction, evaluation and assessment of pupils’ spoken and written discourse All of the issues will be connected with practical examples of suggestions of how pupils can be involved creatively during lessons to acquire an ability to create a cultivated fluent discourse.
