- Course objectives
- To develop the knowledge of the language system (grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, skills, functions) on B1 level according to the CEFR;
To promote the development of oral performance and communicative skills of the students on B1 level according to the CEFR;
To develop the written perfomance and reading comprehension on B1 level according to the CEFR;
To develop listening comprehension on B1 level according to the CEFR; - Syllabus
- The basic study material is New English File Upper-Intermediate, Units 1 and 2: Grammar: Question formation (revision); working out meaning from context;
- Auxiliary verbs, the…the… + comparatives;
- Present Perfect (simple and continuous);
- Using adjectives as nouns, adjective order;
- Narrative tenses, past perfect continuous;
- Adverbs and adverbial phrases;
- Topics: Personality;
- Illness and treatment;
- Speaking about the future;
- Clothes and fashion;
- Air travel

- Assessment methods
- Continuous assessment: students actively participate in seminars and do the assigned tasks, work in an onilne course in VLE Moodle/IS, for which they gain points. Part of the assessment are also final test and oral interview.
