Course objectives
At the end of this course student will be alble to:
- understand the role of the image in chemistry and chemistry teaching;
- chose correct models and drawings for teaching purposes
Syllabus
  • The role of the image in the culture.
  • Image and text as a source of information transfer.
  • Imaging in the life sciences over the centuries.
  • The role of visualization in chemistry and teaching chemistry.
  • The role of theories in explaining the structure of the microworld in chemistry and chemistry teaching.
  • Models of the structure of matter and their visualization in teaching chemistry.
  • Mistakes resulting from incorrect concepts of visualization.
  • Research on the use of models in education.
