Course objectives
The aim is that students acquire the ability of orientation in the musical structures working with diatonic and chromatic material, to have learned to create an accompaniment to more complex folk songs and the structures of the field of popular music. Students have to acquire knowledge that will enable them to carry out a formal analysis of the more elaborate works of art music.
Learning outcomes
The Student is well versed in the musical structures working with diatonic and chromatic material, has the knowledge that will allow him to carry out a formal analysis of more complicated music pieces.
Syllabus
  • 1. Over tonal dominants 2. Neapolitan chord. 3. Modulations using the Neapolitan chord. 4. Chords chromatic third relatedness. 5. Chromatic modulation. 6. Alteration of the main seventh chords. 7. Alteration of over tonal chords. 8. Harmonization of soprano. 9. Enharmonical modulation. 10. Enharmonical-chromatic modulation. 11. – 12. A double alteration.
