Prerequisites
The course is primarily intended for students of the MU. A prerequisite for the completion of the class participation in the implementation of project-based learning and pass a written test in the range defined circuits.

Course objectives
During the course:
The students will deal with the management of institutions involved on the non profit sector with the basic features (economical and personnel management).
They will get an outline of the law and employee relationships, management of leisure time institutions; part of the course covers also the law, marketing and management, funds and fundraising.
The students will get the basic picture on management of the non profit sector and its legislation.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course the student will be able to:
● orientate in current theories, methods and techniques in the field of fundrising and a PR, which turn the theory into practice
● critically work with information sources and their use in conducting and promoting NGO dealing with the given areas;
● prepare, implement and evaluate potential projects;
● analyze the specifics of diverse target groups with regard to the organization of work with them
Syllabus
  • 1. Mission and goals of nonprofit organizations (Why do we exist?)
  • 2. The setting and legislation of the non-profit sector. (Where are we?)
  • 3. Qualitative factors of existence - human potential, internal settings and organization management. (Who are we and whom do we have?)
  • 4. Quantitative performance factors - resources and fundrising in the non-profit sector. (What do we have and how can we handle it?)
  • 5. Planning and evaluating activity - tools, PR (How do we work?) Creation of the project: The third pillar of the company Group work - Create a fictitious, nonprofit organization dealing with specific themes from various areas of NGO: (social, economic, cultural, environmental, pedagogical, health, etc.)
