Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the theoretical foundations of the subject and the scientific field of foreign language didactics with an emphasis on the specifics of the Russian language in the context of the Czech education system. Another goal is to study the options for choosing and using didactic tools in RJ teaching, practical training in developing exercises independently and with AI.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student:
- master the theoretical knowledge and principles of Russian didactics in the Czech education system;
- can identify linguistic phenomena associated with transfer and interference in the acquisition of multiple languages;
- understands the meaning of the lesson as a unit of the teaching process and is able to design a lesson plan;
- is able to choose exercises appropriately with regard to the teaching objectives;
- is able to independently develop exercises and appropriately integrate them into the lesson;
- he orients himself in the options for choosing and using different types of teaching aids.
Syllabus
  • 1. Russian language didactics - subject, goals, tasks. The teacher, the learner and the curriculum in the context of RJ teaching at lower-secondary schools. Objectives and expected outcomes of RJ teaching at lower-secondary schools. Creation of lesson plans (thematic, weekly, VH plan).
  • 2. Foreign language teaching, learning and acquiring. Cross-linguistic influence. Methods of prevention and reduction of interference manifestations.
  • 3. Basic specifics of foreign language lessons. Principles of setting lesson objectives. Exercise as an element of FLL, their typology, continuity and interconnectedness, methods of fulfillment and control.
  • 4. Didactic resources in teaching the Russian language. Czech and foreign textbook sets for teaching the Russian language. Principles of textbook choosing.
  • 5. Search and choosing of existing teaching materials, authentic audio/video materials and literary texts for teaching RJ at lower-secondary schools.
  • 6. Study materials creation and methods of their application for learners. Worksheets (requirements for drafting and editing). The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the RL teacher practice.
