Course objectives
The course is aimed mainly at the development of the students' speaking ability and knowledge of grammar through a range of vocabulary activities within the set of topics listed below. Practice of the grammatical features covered in the previous term (ZS1BP_AJ1A) will be incorporated to increase the students' confidence in using them independently.
Syllabus
  • The course work is based on the following topics: Week 1 - Family members. Week 2 - Describing people (appearance and character). Week 3 - Clothes. Week 4 - TEST, Jobs. Week 5 - Home, furniture. Week 6 - Town. Week 7 - Shopping. Week 8 - TEST, Country and animals. Week 9 - Sports and Leisure. Week 10 - School. Week 11 - Food. Week 12 - TEST, Cooking and Restaurant. Week 13 - Summary and Review. The grammar features revised and practised within the topics include: Present simple and present continuous, past simple and past continuous, future forms, possessive case, plural, modal verbs, structure "there is/there are".

Assessment methods (in Czech)
Requirements: attendance 80%, active participation, all assigned homework, oral preparation throughout the whole course (vocabulary), three tests during the term, final credit - oral in pairs (conversation).
