Course objectives
The course is aimed at the development and improvement of the students' language skills through a range of reading, speaking and listenting activities. Students should broaden their vocabulary and become more confident using it within particular contexts. Special emphasis is placed on the students' ability to communicate their ideas meaningfully and correctly, carry out conversations and improve their knowledge of grammar at intermediate level.
Syllabus
  • The course is based mainly on the material of the coursebook 'Inside Out Intermediate' (namely Units 8 - 11) and additional activities from various other sources. Week 1: Unit 8 - practice and review activities + Unit 9 introduction. Week 2 - 4: Unit 9 (soap operas, family relations; reported speech, say v. tell, phrasal verbs). Week 5 - 8: Unit 10 (time management, work; modals, time prepositions). Week 9 - 12: Unit 11 (travelling, holidays; modals, past perfect). Week 13: Review, summary
