Course objectives
Stylistics is a linguistic branch that not only integrates pieces of knowledge of functional linguistics, but also the theories of a text, teaching communication etc. The aim of the course is theoretical and practical mastery in style differentiation of the Czech language as a presumption to a successful verbal communication in the company. The content of the course is determined on the basic functional stylistics. The undergraduates become acquainted with the individual spheres of style, stylistic levels of the language resources and stylistic norms.
Syllabus
  • 1 Basic stylistic terminology. 2 Theoretical and practical mastery in style differentiation of the Czech language. 3 Contribution of functional linguistics. 4 Characteristic features of basic functional stylistics, spheres of style, stylistic levels of the language resources and style norms, scientific, administrative, journalistic, rhetorical, literary, and essayistic styles. 5 Stylistic value - constant and variable (contextual). 6 Division of the text vertical and horizontal structuring 7 Stylistic procedures and stylistic forms taught (in accordance with the curricula) in basic schools. 8 Stylistic analysis of the text / function of the text, stylistic value of the text, means of expression marked and unmarked means of expression.

Assessment methods (in Czech)
Typ výuky: seminář (vzhledem ke konkrétní práci s texty je účast žádoucí). Předmět je zakončen kolokviem (po předchozím vypracování stylistického rozboru textu), při němž je požadována znalost stylistické terminologie a orientace ve stylistické systematice.
