Course objectives
The aim of the study is to give information about an optimal teaching style conception in basic schools. We understand theoretic didactics of teaching stylistics as a part of the Czech language didactics in its complexity. The lectures deal not only with a classification of didactic knowledge in general, but also with the selected fundamental topics (e. g. communication of spoken and written language, reproduction and production stylistics, creativity, stylistic forms, writing essays and so on) that should help the intending basic school teachers in their practice. The final objective of the course is mastery in teaching didactics based on a communication aspect and leading to a sophisticated usage of the language and development of stylistic abilities and creativity in spoken and written ways of utterances.
Syllabus
  • 1 Conception of teaching stylistics at basic and secondary schools and didactic principles, system of working and working procedures in teaching stylistics. 2 Forming a fluent speech acts in compositions taught in basic schools invention, wording and composition. 3 Spoken and written ways of expression, reproduction and production stylistics, creativity. 4 Methods of composition, fragments and stylistics in teaching in basic schools. 5 Coherence of stylistics procedures, stylistic fragments and language styles. 6 Compositions preparing for writing, topic selection, and methodology of writing, teachers corrections and revisions of corrections. Marking of the essays.

Assessment methods
Lesson type: lecture. Subject is finished by credit. Credit requirements: the knowledge of the Czech language terminology and the didactics of teaching in the Czech language, basic orientation in the didactics of the Czech language and the actual problematics taking into consideration the goals and authorizations defined by the General education program of the primary education.
