Course objectives
Students will develop general awareness of the concept of ‘drama in education’ and get familiar with the basics of the methods and techniques in this field. Target-conscious drama methods and techniques lead to resolution of conflict situations and problems. ‘Drama method’ is here interpreted as an optional way to be used for dealing with conflict situations, e.g. at schools. Students first experience some drama in education methods and techniques. Based on this experience, they will then prepare and lead a drama session or do a short-term project. At the end of the course, the students will be able to: Define the term “drama education”. Discuss the position of drama education in the country. Compare the attitudes of lectors in the organizations visited. Plan a drama education lesson.
