Course objectives
Students should improve basic communicative skills working with written texts, reading with full comprehension, training verbal and written expression, listening to DVD and CD records in Russian. Students deal with grammar issues and translations. Students consolidate graphical system of Russian. A successful learner from this course will be able to: listen and understand Russian texts, write texts, read texts and talk on these topics - see Course Contents.
Syllabus
  • Russian textbook not only for self-learning (15 to 21 lessons) Topics: Hotel. City transport.House and flat. Food. Shopping. Health. Grammar: 1 Irregular verbs. 2nd Ordinals. Counting objects. Declension of feminine nouns on a soft consonant. Imperativ. Declension the nouns - ij. Spelling exercises.

Teaching methods
Students work up homework and within an individual work they elaborate lexical excercises and essays during the study. Students work individually and they also cooperate in group projects. They continuously read Russian texts.
Assessment methods
Seminar. Attendance 80% (two absences allowed). Active participation in seminars. The credit requirements: written test at the end of course based on the work done in the class. Written test (based on grammatic, syntax and vocabulary) - 75% of correct answers needed to pass. Homeworks.
