Course objectives
Development of proper Russian pronunciation on single words and in short texts, introduction to transcription. Special focus is given to accent.

  • 1. The Subject of Phonetics. Phonetics and Phonology. 2. Articulatory Phonetics. Vocal cords. Organs of speech. 3. Elements of Phonetic system. Suprasegmental and segmental units. 4. Intonation construction 1 7. 5. Accent: Types and place. 6. Reduction. Basic reduction positions. 7. Rhythm. Rising and falling melody. 8. Segmental units. Vowels and consonants phonic, articulatory, and functional positions. Vowels. Classification. Labialization. 9. Consonants. Pronunciation. Division according to different criteria. 10. Assimilation, dissimilation, dieresis, transcription i transliteration. 11. Orthoepy, orthography.

Teaching methods
Regular activ participation in the class. Listening in russian language. Reading russian texts and correct pronunciation.
Assessment methods
Oral credit takes place during the exam period according to the published examination timetable. At the credit the student must prove himself to know the theory of the subject Phonetics and phonology (lectures topics), as well as the knowledge and understanding the terminology.

General note: Pokud se přihlásí méně než 10 studentů, výuka se nebude konat. Studenti mohou chodit do odpovídajících předmětů katedry ruského jazyka a literatury.
