Students enrolling in the course are expected to have reached the minimum CEFR level of A2+. To prove so students are expected to have taken the CJV_AJA2k and CJV_AJA2 courses.
Omezení zápisu do předmětu
Předmět je určen pouze studentům mateřských oborů.

Jiné omezení: Předmět si zapíší pouze studenti, kteří úspěšně absolvovali Vstupní test na úrovni A2 (ERR). Počet míst v kurzu je limitován kapacitou pracoviště.

Cíle předmětu
1 Students will acquire the specific vocabulary presented within four social education topic-based units while employing all four language skills.
2 Within the language skill of speaking, students will acquire the basics of oral presentation.
3 Within the language skill of writing, students will be able to produce a simple argumentative essay.
4 Students will acquire grammar competence specified in the below-mentioned grammar chapters at the B1 CEFR level.
Výstupy z učení
By the end of the course, the student will be able to:
  • understand spoken social education texts at B1 level of the CEFR;
  • understand written social education texts at B1 level of the CEFR;
  • successfully participate in a spoken interaction dealing with relevant social education issues at B1 level of the CEFR;
  • give an oral presentation on a specialist social education topic;
  • use selected social education terminology with natural and sophisticated control;
  • show a good command of selected grammar structures at B1 level of the CEFR;

    • SC4BK_CJAJ English for Social Educators
    • Multidisciplinary focus of social pedagogy is reflected in topic-based orientation of the individual courses taught at the Faculty of Education. In the Bachelor study programme for distance learners, the course is geared towards selected social and legal issues.
    • Topic 1 SOCIAL EDUCATION (basic aspects of primary, secondary and tertiary education, literacies - language, maths, digital, etc., education and society - school age, education's importance to a nation).

    Výukové metody
    There are four class sessions during the semester for which students are expected to prepare for beforehand by reading, writing and research activities, as well as grammar exercises at B1 level.

    4-5 class sessions during the semester, activities and tasks developing students' language skills and competencies, class and group discussions, vocabulary practice, mind mapping, opinion and information sharing, giving arguments, etc.
    Metody hodnocení
    Course completion requirements:
    1) Attendance and active participation in the consultations (only 1 absence permitted), all coursework must be completed including any catch-up work for a missed class.
    2) Having participation points being 85% or higher (gained from completing online and in-class activities). Extra points are available through catch-up activities for any missed classes.
    3) Submitting home assignments in due time (specified by course instructor)
    4) Oral presentation submitted in video.

    NOTE: Only students who have completed the above tasks and satisfied the above requirements may sit the final exam.
    5) FINAL EXAM: Written part: Test (reading, writing, listening, grammar and vocabulary), pass mark 65%.
    6) Spoken exam: follows after the successful completion of the written exam consisting of two parts:
    a)introduction of yourself and your (future) social work, about 1 minute;
    b) Student discussion on social education topics (5-6 min. long).

    Informace učitele
    Google classroom (a MUNI online classroom system) is used to complete online activities. Students need to sign up for a MUNI Google account from the IS.

    Online activities of reading, writing, listening along with quizzes and games are the preparation work for the classroom sessions.

    Participation points are assigned from completing online activities, catch-up activities (for missed attendance) and classroom activities. Students need above 85% participation to be able to attend the exams.

    Classroom sessions include completing projects in teams which use and practice the language already learnt from the online preparation activities.

    Poznámka k ukončení předmětu: Pro úspěšné ukončení předmětu jsou předepsány v semestru průběžné kontroly. Jazykový kurz není určen pro začátečníky. Výuka je v angličtině a kurz je ukončen písemnou a ústní zkouškou na úrovni B1.
    Předmět je vyučován každoročně.
    Předmět bude zapsán po udělení zápočtu za Vstupní test CJV_AJA2k, který si student zapíše v podzimním semestru, test na úrovni A2 složí v lednu, a poté absolvuje předmět SC4BK_CJAJ v jarním semestru. Počet míst v kurzu je limitován kapacitou pracoviště.
    Předmět je zařazen také v obdobích podzim 2008, jaro 2009, jaro 2010, jaro 2011, jaro 2012, jaro 2013, jaro 2014, jaro 2015, jaro 2016, jaro 2017, jaro 2018, jaro 2019.
