Prerequisites
Prerequisite for passing this course is knowledge of music theory, basics of harmony, orientation in the history of music and playing a musical instrument (preferably piano, violin).

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to get acquainted with the activity concept of music education, to acquire methodical procedures for singing the creation of tone, for the development of rhythmic and intonation skills. In the field of instrumental activities to get acquainted with the instruments of Orff's instruments, to use them to accompany songs, movement activities, in connection with listening composition.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to: -work with children's voice (breathing, vocal, intonation, rhythmic exercises) -use the tonal method of song when working with songs -develop rhythmic skills of students -create scores for songs and realize them by playing the instruments of Orff's instruments.
Syllabus
  • 1. Activity concept of music education. 2. Vocal activities - singing tone formation, vocal exercises, work with songs. 3. Procedure for practicing polyphony. 4. Tonal feeling. 5. Intonation - tonal method of song. 6. Instrumental activities - Orff's instrumentation. 7. Methodical procedure when working with rhythmic percussion instruments. 8. Methodical procedure when working with melodic percussion instruments. 9. Playing, singing and conducting selected songs (10).

Teaching methods
Practical exercises - vocal area, intonation, rhythmic exercises. Practical acquaintance with the instruments of Orff's instruments - playing instruments, creating scores. Study of professional literature.
Assessment methods
Seminar, exam completion. Requirements: - playing, singing, conducting 10 selected songs - voice exercise game - creation of three scores using the tools of Orff's instrumentation
