Course objectives
The goal of the course is competent knowledge of the process of education of children with behavioral difficulties/disorders (EBD), in the application of its procedures in the educational practice of schools and preventive educational care facilities, and for the performance of institutional and protective education. The course emphasizes the active participation of students during lessons, individual preparation (reading texts and writing their reflections), and developing the ability to view the education of children with EBD issues critically and creatively - independently and in cooperation with colleagues. After successful completion of the course, students will have basic knowledge of the context of behavioral and emotional disorders, risk and protective factors influencing the development of EBD, its manifestations and forms, and the educational needs of children at risk/with behavioral disorders. They will orient themselves in the system of counseling services and educational facilities.
Learning outcomes
Students will be informed about characteristic of children with emotional and behavioral difficulties/disorder and on the nature of educational needs of the children. Student will be able to orientate themselves within the system of counselling care and of residential institutions.
