Course objectives
Aims: Basic aim of education in Immunopharmacology is to gain knowledge of basic interactions between immune system function and feasibilities of pharmacointervention.
Contentual focus: Main objective is study of compounds, which suppress unfavourable organism immune response (immunosuppressive drugs) and compounds, which on the contrary enhance organism immune response (immunostimulants).
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to: - summarize the basic links between the function of the immune system and the possibility of influencing it by pharmacointerventions, - describe the basic principles of therapy with immunosuppressants and immunostimulatory substances, - describe the basic principles and action of monoclonal antibodies, including their mechanism of action and indications
