Cílem předmětu Cvičení diplomantů III je vytvoření písemné práce studenta. Při práci na Vysokoškolské kvalifikační práci, v tomto případě - práci diplomové je student veden školitelem, který může být odborníkem v různých oblastech farmacie. Školitel by měl studentovi pomoci orientovat se v problematice a vyvarovat se začátečnických chyb. Naučit ho volit správnou strategii a taktiku psaní odborného textu a přitom postupovat v duchu publikační etiky.

Zpracováním a obhajobou písemné práce prokazuje student schopnost samostatné odborné tvůrčí činnosti.
Svoji práci student obhajuje na jednom z pěti ústavů Farmaceutické fakulty VFU.
