Course objectives
The course is dealing with the main theatre genres of asian cultures.

The course is held in Czech.
Learning outcomes

At the end of the course student will be able to:
- understand basic principles of traditional theatre forms of India, Japan and Chine;
- explain the principles of staging in Asia;
- explain the principles of acting techniques;
- explain the principles of poetics of discussed theatre forms.
Syllabus
  • Traditional theatre (ance) forms of India: kutiyattam, kathakali, bharat natyam, kathak, Ramlila etc.
  • Traditional theatre forms of Japan: noh, kyogen, bunraku, kabuki
  • Traditional drama/theatre of China: Jīngjù (Peking opera) etc.
