Course objectives
The aim of the course is to explain the connection between ancient and Christian thought, to present an overview of the development of Christianity in Antiquity and the basics of Christian ethics; students will work with ancient sources and interpret them.
Learning outcomes
After the completion of the course the student will be able to
- summarize important features of early Christianity
- describe basic thoughts of main early Christian thinkers
- create an essay characterizing Christianity at the beginning of our era and defining the role of Christians in the Roman state.
