Course objectives
The aim of the subject is to explain the basis of opera dramaturgy with an emphasis on Italian and French opera of the 19th century, as well as selected composers (Strauss, Janacek and others)
Learning outcomes
The student will be able to orientate himself in the field of musical dramaturgy, especially with emphasis on 19th and 20th century opera.

Lectures, group projects and presentations, reading and homework.
Assessment methods
Share on a group project. A 10,000 character essay analyzing the relationship between the literary source, the music text, and the music in the selected opera (on the example of a properly chosen probe, for example within one scene).
