Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide an overview of the historical development of relations between Czech and South Slavic countries, and Czechs and Serbians, Bulgarians, Croatians, Bosnians, Slovenes, Macedonians and Montenegrins in particular. Students should gain a basic knowledge about the political, cultural and economic ties between the Czech Lands and the territories inhabited by Slovenes, Croats, Serbs, Bosnians, Montenegrins, Bulgarians and Macedonians since the Middle Ages to the present day. Students will learn about the main figures of Czech and South Slavic relations, will read their works and will present a paper about these authorities.
Learning outcomes
Absolvent of this course will gain a complete picture about the relations between Czech and South Slavs, will be able to discuss about them and speak about the possibilities of future development.

Lectures, home reading, class discussion, presentation.
Assessment methods
Prerequisites for granting the credit: regular attendance and thorough home preparation on weekly basis (mainly home reading), participation in class discussion, oral presentation of paper on given topic. Oral exam based on discussed topics and study literature.
