Prerequisites
NOW ( KSCA009 Chinese IV )
- The course is offered EXCLUSIVELY to the students of the Chinese Department of Masaryk University.
- Exceptions could be made ONLY IF an Erasmus student has Chinese Studies as their major at their home university and if the student can present documented proof. Language proficiency certificates (HSK/TOCFL) are NOT accepted.

Course objectives
To help students familiarize themselves with contents taught in Chinese IV.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to:
- understand paragraph-length utterances pertaining to a wide range of topics relating to daily and academic life.
- sustain conversation in coherent paragraphs
- handle successfully a wide range of task. Able to narrate, describe, compare and contrast
- identify a moderate number of character components and high-frequency characters in areas of immediate need
- identify key facts and some details in descriptive material on daily life.
- deal with topics related to the content of the lesson texts studied in class.

  • The Drill IV is taught according the Integrated Chinese 2.2 textbook, following the course of Chinese IV.

Teaching methods
The course is taught by a native speaker who combines various methods of teaching - class discussion, conversations and oral presentations.
Assessment methods
Attendance (2 unexcused absences are tolerated). Students who had three unexcused absences fails the course.
To have an absence officially excused, the doctor's notes should be submitted to the Study Department of the Faculty.
