Prerequisites
Only teachers who meet the legal requirements for mentor teachers and who work at a faculty school of the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University are eligible for the course. Collaboration with faculty schools is always arranged in advance, and therefore, the course is designed for a predefined group of participants.

Course objectives
The course aims to provide systematic support for mentor teachers, enabling them to effectively guide student teachers during their practicum. Participants will align their approach with reflective practice, both in relation to student teachers and their own teaching, which serves as a model for classroom observations. The course is structured as a series of five interconnected seminars/workshops, focusing on key aspects of collaboration between student teachers and mentor teachers. Additionally, the course serves as a platform for collegial sharing and professional learning.
Learning outcomes
Participants will: Identify key aspects of the mentor teacher's role in the professional development of student teachers and explain their significance in the context of reflective practice. Apply principles of reflective practice when guiding student teachers and assessing their professional progress. Design strategies for effectively supporting student teachers during their practicum, considering their individual needs. Evaluate collaboration with student teachers based on structured reflection and formulate recommendations for improvement. Share best practices and experiences with colleagues in the course, contributing to professional learning and the development of the teaching community.
