Course objectives
The dissertation report shows the student’s ability to summarize and methodologically describe outcomes of their doctoral research (cf. The Masaryk University Study and Examination Regulations, article 33).
Learning outcomes
After passing the course, students will be able: to finish research results for submission.
Syllabus
  • The goal of the Dissertation Report ['autoreferát'] is to present the dissertation from a more general perspective; with the researched topics one reports also the main results and the used methodology. The form: A5 brochure, 20-25 (standard) pages. The title page etc. has the same formal characteristics as the dissertation; the style and the list of references are also the same. A specific content: (1) annotations in Czech and English (German, ...); (2) an introduction to the main textual part; (3) a description of the current state of the topic; (4) aims of the dissertation thesis; (5) methods; (6) main results (accentuating own contribution); (7) conclusions. The credit is given by the chair of the board after the dissertation report is officially delivered.
