Course objectives
The seminar is focused on the current knowledge of experimental archaeology. In the first lectures, the students are given the information regarding up-to-date topics, current trends and literature in the field of experimental archaeology. Practical experiments with various materials (ceramics, stone, bone, textile, leather, etc.) are also a part of the seminar.

  • Understanding technology in ancient society
  • The role of experiment in public archaeology and “Living archaeology” centres: the case for greater academic involvement
