Course objectives
The aim of the subject is to demonstrate the articulation of a literary work and its film modification on the basis of intertextuality on the material of several Slavonic literatures. At the end of the course the student should have a more precise idea of the relations between a literary and film artefact and its various types.
Syllabus
  • The subject is focused on the analysis of literary works of several Slavonic literatures and their film adaptation, on the interpretation of specific qualities of a literary work and a concrete film. The key notion of this transformation is adaptation, the term which is being used in the meaning of modification and creative transcription of a literary artefact into a different text, a different artefact (directors Andrzej Wajda, Juraj Jakubisko, Jiří Menzel, Miloš Forman, Nikita Michalkov, Elmar Klos – Ján Kadár). The concrete analyses will contain the interpretation on the basis of intertextuality in relation of pretext and posttext.
