- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to understand and explain the morphology of the Latvian verb.
This course follows after the courses BA411 and BA412 and is the third part of the four-semester course of Latvian language. In the field of grammar, we work with the morphology of the Latvian verb. New conversational themes re added and communication skills in Latvian are developed. - Syllabus
- In the field of grammar, we work with 1) Latvian future tense, further on also verb modes, i.e. 2) conditional + reflexive verbs conditional, 3) debitive + reflexive verbs debitive and 4) relative mode + reflexive verbs relative mode.
- In the field of vocabulary we talk about 1) elements of nature, 2) verbs expressing various kinds of motion, 3) adjectives regarding colours and people‘s character and 4) adjectives and nouns denoting people’s looks.
