Course objectives
Study of Serbian language based on the knowledge acquired during the study of the contemporary Serbian language. At the end of the course students should be able to speak and write in contemporary Serbian language.
Syllabus
  • Topic: Tri idealna dana u Srbiji, the words of foreign origin, Topic: Tuđice u srpskom jeziku, the words of foreign origin and their equivalents, lexicology - professions, Topic: Zašto se kaže: do daske?, audit - the words of foreign origin, lexicology - profession and tools, Topic: Uhvati san, phraseology - how to say? (eg easy as ...), Topic: Belgrade slang: blejači, baje, smorovi, lexicology - slang, interview, Topic: Žargon - Oš - neš Bangladeš, lexicology - slang expressions, Review. Topic: Srbi, najhrabriji, najsamopouzdaniji narod na svetu, active and passive adjectives, formation of nouns, Interview, Topic: Zašto se kaže Dunav?, Revision words of foreign origin, jargon, phrases, Topic: Superstition, synonyms and antonyms, "da" or "što"

Teaching methods
Serbian: Seminars, 1½ hours per week, plus half an hour tutorials to be arranged individually with students.
Assessment methods
The course has a form of a class discussion. Maximum of 3 absence 10%, regular preparation and active participation on seminars 15%, maximum 3 pages review at the agreed-upon topics 25%, lexical testˇ50%.
