Course objectives
The course is meant as the first part of the 2-semestral course, which deals with the system of Finnish language. In this course students should acquire a good insight into chapters of Finnish grammar such as phonology, possible descriptions of morphology, possibilities of typological description, syntactic problems. Students are able to interpret linguistic texts related to these topics. They have an overview of the development of Finnish standard language and socio-cultural situation of the language.
