Course objectives
Main objectives of the course can be summarized as follows: to explain the continuity and tendencies of Western philosophical tradition; the basics of Eastern philosophy will be briefly considered as well. Students will orientate themselves in basic philosophical notions and problems and they will be able to explain European cultural tradition and history of ideas in the context of philosophical thought.

Teaching methods
Lecture with tuition and discussion on problems studied in the course.
Assessment methods
The course has a form of lecture and ends with a written exam (test)consisting of 10 -12 open questions. Written examination aimed at testing the student´s insight into the main theories and at the work of the main representatives of the scholary discourses. Minimum pass level 80%.
